Introduction

Home is a place of comfort, convenience and calm. It is where we live, love and cherish the time with our family and ourselves. The compact size of the site poses a design challenge for the Designers, which can be overcome through creative expression of architectural ideas in design.

Problem Statement

The design of this project calls for a compact residential bungalow on a 425 sq.ft. plot in Vijaynagar, Bangalore. Considering the compact sized site, Use of innovative design elements and architectural solutions for effective provision of light and ventilation is desired.

Design Consideration

• Model of elevator to be used- Vacuum Lift. Clear Space for elevator placement is 3’3” (0.99m) in diameter. The elevator would be only from Ground Floor to Third Floor and won't have a stop on the terrace floor.

• Minimum clear height (Floor to Ceiling) to be considered for each floor is 10’ (3.048 metres.).

•As this is a compact location for the residence, design elements such as skylights, full heighted windows and other innovative architectural solutions for attaining adequate sunlight and ventilation may be incorporated and is preferred by the clients.
